Collection: Argentinian Wines

Altos Las Hormigas was founded in Mendoza in 1995 by winemaker Alberto Antonini and entrepreneur Antonio Morescalchi, later joined by Attilio Pagli and Carlos Vazquez. The estate is located in the Mendoza region, specifically in the two sub-regions of Luján de Cuyo and Maipú, where the first Altos Las Hormigas vineyards were planted in 1996. Currently, the agronomic management of the land aims to protect the natural heritage of the region, whose particular beauty is also due to its location at the foot of the Andes' Aconcagua mountain, with the largest portion of the estate facing to the east. The soil is clay-calcareous with alluvial sedimentation, and some areas feature sand and pebbles. The region's climate is characterized by dry periods and a significant temperature variation: very hot days and cold nights. The estate currently covers an area of 206 hectares, with 40 hectares planted with Malbec and 6 hectares with Bonarda. Harvesting is done manually and takes place in February and March. The wines of Altos Las Hormigas are the result of minimal interventions in the cellar, aimed at highlighting the incredible heritage of pure Malbec.
